Commander Quickstart Introduction

Xiid Commanders are the central hub for managing your Xiid products, including SealedTunnel™.

This Getting Started guide will walk you through deploying your first Xiid Commander, setting up the basic components for the Xiid SealedTunnel, and deploying your first STLinks.

Outcomes

By the end of this Getting Started Section, you will have:

• Installed and activated your first Commander
• Set up your first Profile with an assigned Mapping Route for RDP or SSH access to your Commander machine
• Set an additional Mapping Route to the Commander Portal
• Deployed your first two STLinks
• Set up Binding Routes to each of the two Mappings on the Commander's STLink
• Achieved access to each of the Commander machine's resources over the SealedTunnel
  • The Commander VM via RDP or SSH
  • The Commander Portal via a browser

Prerequisites

There are a small number of prerequisites for deploying the Xiid Commander.

We recommend using a Cloud Service Provider (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) for your Commander deployment, although the Commander can be easily deployed on-premise or practically anywhere.

Please also ensure that you comply with the STLink Prerequisites before starting your deployment.

What You Must Provide

You will need to provide the following:

• A Linux or Windows machine that the Commander and first STLink will be installed on
  • We recommend using a Cloud Service Provider
• A client machine (macOS, Linux, or Windows) to install the second STLink on
• Outbound access on port 443 for both machines
